    • Some popular phone models are not compliant to the BC1.2 specification and fail to establish a data connection.
      • These phones use primary detection to only identify ports as SDP (data / no charge) or DCP (no data / charge). They do not recognize CDP (data /charge) ports.
      • When connected to a CDP port, these phones classify the port as a DCP and will only charge. Since charging ports are configured as CDP when the computer is in S0, users do not get the expected data connection.

Introduction

U3-16U3BC01 is a high-performance 16 ports USB 3.0 Hub which compliant with Battery Charging.

U3-16U3BC01 is designed with two key components.

  • Upstream USB 3.0 4-Port Hub : U3H414SH2-i
  • Downstream USB 3.0 4-Port Hub : Four U3H416

The upstream USB 3.0 4-Port Hub (U3H414SH2-i) allows for a maximum data transfer rate of up to 5Gbps, or ten times the throughput available to USB 2.0 based devices. Other enhancements provide for improved interaction between device and host controller, including important advancements in power management.

U3-16U3BC01 provides simultaneous SuperSpeed USB and High-Speed/Full-Speed connections on the upstream port and provides SuperSpeed (5Gbps) USB, High-Speed (480Mbps), Full-Speed (12Mbps), or Low-Speed (1.5Mbps) connections on the downstream ports. When the upstream port is connected to an electrical environment that only supports High-speed or Full-speed/Low-speed connections, SuperSpeed USB connectivity is disabled on the downstream ports. When the upstream port is connected to an electrical environment that only supports Full-speed/Low-speed connections, SuperSpeed USB and High-speed connectivity are disabled on the downstream ports.

U3-16U3BC01 supports four of the most common USB charging protocols:
